Jefferson, Texas (population: 2,040), is the Marion County Seat and 16 miles N of Marshall, 58 miles S of Texarkana, and 164 miles E of Dallas.

The Jefferson Carnegie Library - this 1907 building is one of only five Carnegie Libraries serving its original function in Texas. I know of another one in Bryan.

    The Cooke County library in Gainesville is a Carnegie library. You should make the trip sometime. Make sure you visit the zoo!
